This is the part where you scoop me up and bridal carry me to the surface.

[ They're stuck at the bottom of a chasm. Of course they are, because it's cold and dark and ominous and therefore clearly the place for two bitties to meet. Not that Patch needs light to see the other; his Line burns brighter than the sun. As brightly as hers. Which is impossible; no one's Line shines like hers.

This must be a dream. ]

Slowpoke. [ Funny thing, that. Dreams are meant to be fantastical, yet her voice remains lost. The 'voice' she emits isn't a physical one, bypassing the physics of sound and travelling directly into the stranger's mind. He'll hear her voice, sounding every bit the ten year old girl she is, but in his head – unless he's resistant to telepathy, in which case they have a problem. ]

[And today, Takeru decided he could go off to the park! While his mom was watching him out of the corner of her eye, he decided that today was going to be all about fun! Especially with so many tests he had to do in school, he needed some time off!

However, as Takeru continued to play in jungle gym, he couldn't help but spot a kid that happened to be sitting by himself.]

...Hey...are you okay? You look really sad there.

[This has to be a dream, Kyousuke thinks as he doesn't remember falling into the bottom of a chasm. Neither does he remember knowing a girl with telepathic abilities, or in with her, and-

Oh, right. She said something. He turns to look at Patch apologetically, even though it's not as if he's done something bad.]

S-sorry. [He looks up and sees the smallest of glimmers just barely out of his line of sight. Flying up there and getting out isn't an issue even while carrying her, but...]

I can get us out of here, but um. What's a bridal carry?

I'm not! [This is bad, really bad! Civilians aren't supposed to know about his existence and Minamoto's told him so many times, but Kyousuke's still a child and he'd gotten bored, so he had taken off to meet the Children while they were on their way home from school.

As it is he gets up immediately and turns to Takeru, looking more than slightly agitated when his senses pick up a taller person near Takeru. Of course people aren't supposed to know about that either, so he'll make an attempt at acting like a normal child.]

Is there anyone else there with you? I'm not supposed to be here, actually- please don't tell anyone.

A bridal carry is where you dress up as a bride and promise to marry someone. If you seem dedicated enough, they'll let you carry them.

[That was Kaz's glorious entrance - a horribly misjudged dimensional leap from the demon world to one that... was definitely not his own. Instead of appearing in the Hills Building in modern day Tokyo, he ended up getting launched violently through time and space and flung into some random, unfamiliar room - and right into some random, unfamiliar kid!]

Argh!

[Bam, pow, thump. Even as a demon king, having the universe punt you into a solid, breathing child was pretty damn painful, though Hyoubu was the one who was probably getting the worst of it. Having an older teenager come screaming out an obviously botched teleport at max speed and ploughing right into you without a word of warning? Good luck in not breaking something, bitty!Hyoubu]

[Not only is he quite the doormat, he's already taken in a sense- sorry Patch, but there's only one Queen for this little boy.]

But I'm too young to get married... [And Fujiko-san would kill me if I told her about this!] Can't I just carry you on my back?

The what-? [It's a good thing for the both of them that Kyousuke happens to be awake at this hour, reading an engaging story book well past his bedtime (Hey, little kids rebelling against their sisters is a part of life!).

As it is he hears the cursing before seeing the teenager coming, followed by looking up and seeing Kaz zooming at him at max speed.] Ahhh! [The book's flung up in the air as he reacts instinctively to the impending intruder and danger, creating a protective barrier around himself to minimize the damage by dispersing it over a wider area than his body.

That being said the impact still hurts at least twice as bad as having paint balls shot at him at full speed, and Kyousuke's dismayed cry is in tandem with the sound of something cracking...hopefully that was the bed.]

P-please get off me... [It's barely a whimper, and he's really trying not to cry. Really.]

Nhhh? Wha- oh shit, sorry!

[Kazuya scrambled off of the kid - though, since he still didn't know where he was, only that he was currently suffocating some poor brat beneath his body, he ended up tumbling right off the bed. After more yelping and banging of elbows against the floor (ow, his funny bone!), Kazuya's head peeked above the edge of the bed, his expression one of both guilt and worry]

Ummm, uh, are you.... okay....?

[He even reached out to poke him. Please don't die, kid]

[ Don't tell Fujiko, then. :| ]

Patch isn't a sack. [ How rude. While her gaze remains deadpan, her tone of 'voice' is clearly pouting. ] You're not getting married now. There's no audience! [ She shakes her head, sighing mentally. ]

It's a promise, silly. Promises last years.

Oww! [Kaz can take that yelp as an indication that the kid he just crushed is 1) Very much alive and 2) Cross at having his side being poked, that hurts!

But Kyousuke's still a soldier and he grits his teeth, forcing himself to not use words his sister would punch him for if she ever heard him saying them as he sits up to peer at Kaz.] I'm fine, just really sore... [No he's not, but he doesn't want to make Kaz more worried.] What about you? That looked like teleportation, but it sounds like you were going somewhere else.

[Okay, that made Takeru a little curious about what was going on! While the boy didn't know how or why the other boy was acting the way he did, he knew one thing was for sure]

Well, my mom is with me but is everything okay? Why aren't you suppose to be here? ...Are you lost, maybe I can ask someone to see if they can help you!

You'd wait that long for me? [It's an earnest question, one that could only be asked by a child who believes himself to have many years ahead.

But it still feels wrong. He could just lie to get them both out of here yet he hesitates, trying to think of a better way to put it.] I'm sorry that you thought about it that way, but I could do that bridal carry if you want. [There! Nothing said about marriage, surely nothing can go wrong.]

[Kaz flinched at the yelp and sunk down even lower until only his eyes could be seen, blinking rapidly]

Ehhhh...? Um...? Teleporting? Uh, you saw that? [And was apparently reacting well to it? Teleporting normally meant "demons" to humans, and demons meant "the thing that is going to eat me oh god" to them. To have someone act so blasé... oh, god, don't tell him he slipped into another dimension again!] Well, I kind of... did? I guess it's obvious I, erm, botched it. Badly.

I-I'm not lost either. [Kyousuke holds up a finger to his lips while walking over to Takeru, leaning over to whisper something into his ears]

I kind of ran away from home to meet someone...it'd be really bad if someone finds me now, so please don't let your mom know. What about we play together instead?

[No Kyousuke no, that's too questionable!]

Yeah, you kind of did. I'm sure Akuta-san wouldn't be so careless... [His head is cocked, eyes looking upward where Kaz came from- that didn't look like any kind of teleportation he's seen before, and thinking about it is a welcome distraction from his aching everything.

Kyousuke turns to look back a few seconds later, sizing up Kaz as much as a tiny 9-year old boy can- doesn't look dangerous, but looks can be deceiving.] A-anyway, you don't look like you're from here at all. Isn't it really dangerous to teleport far away? You could get stuck forever! [Yet far from being apprehensive he's actually really curious, it's like he's expecting Kaz to explain how his powers work.]

Ah...

[Kazuya really wasn't sure what to do here. He had a way too curious kid here, asking questions, and though it'd be easy to do an emergency retreat back to the demon world, he didn't want to do that in front of the kid. Demons normally took opportunities like that to slip into the world he just left, and while it never happened if he did it carefully, doing it in a rapid rush was just asking for him to accidentally set loose some kind of demon in this poor kid's bedroom. Nope. He couldn't do that.

Ahhh, what to do, then...]

Well, you're right, I do come from far, far away... [He straightened up from where he'd been hiding behind the bed, resting his elbows on the mattress and adopting a more relaxed posture. Maybe he could just talk his way out of this? Once the kid grew bored with questioning the magically teleporting boy, Kazuya could slip out, find a quiet, isolated spot, and do a careful jump back to the demon world] But I don't think you can get stuck. How can you get stuck in nothing? No, if you miss the mark like me, you'll just get spit out into some random coordinate at various speed.

So, er, I guess it can be dangerous... I mean, if you were a solid brick wall instead of a squishy kid, I think I'd be nursing more than a few broken bones right now.

Mmhm. Patch doesn't mind waiting! So long as you behave well. [ Nothing can go wrong, because that criteria isn't shady at all. She'll take him up on his offer, though, if only to poke fun at his meekness. ]

Hold your arms out. Like this. [ She'll demonstrate. ]

I'm not a squishy kid! [So comes Kyousuke's indignant protest, which is duly followed by a wince and a pout.

And oops, maybe he shouldn't have said that thing about teleportation. It's just an idle thought he's had while watching Akuta practice after all, and since he'd rather not draw attention to made-up theories he'll just look down nervously at his lap.]

But I guess you're right...Teleportation's really advanced, but there's a lot that can go wrong with it. [He falls silent for a bit, wondering if he should try and get Kaz to leave before someone finds him.] Where were you going, though? [Those clothes don't look like anything I've ever seen, and he speaks Japanese too...could he be from the future?]

[How cute. Kazuya almost cooed at that pouty protest, but managed to restrain himself, hiding his grin behind his hand... Though he sobered up quickly when the kid asked his next question. Now... for the tricky part...]

Er, well... I was going to the Hills Building in Tokyo. [He keenly observed the kid for a reaction. If this was a different dimension, the name would mean nothing. If it was his though... well, every human knew the Hills Building as where Babel resided, so he knew what reaction to expect] Instead I've ended up... this is still Japan, right? You're a Japanese kid in Japan, yeah?

[It's a good thing Kaz asked that question, or maybe it's not because Kyousuke's suddenly perking up and sitting upright, seemingly excited by what he said.]

Yeah, I'm from Japan. But this isn't Japan though, we're currently at a country called Impalahen. [And that's Kaz's answer, there's definitely no Impalahen where he's from and now he has a very curious child to deal with, oops.]

I never thought anyone could teleport that far- you're really amazing! [One curious and very impressed child, oh dear.]

Ah, I wouldn't... I wouldn't say amazing. I mean, I ended up in a totally different country than what I wanted. Maybe, uh, "lucky" would be a better word to use.

[Okay, so, another dimension. It's cool, he's dealt with this situation before. He'll just have to be careful not to give anything away - which he had a feeling would be difficult, with how this kid was staring at him with stars in his eyes. He was so bad at lying, but, all he had to do was pretend to know what the kid was talking about right? He couldn't lie, but he could try and bluff!]

So, um, Impalahen. That's around- [If there was a "Japan" in this world then would the continent names be the same? Er, think, Asia, Europe, Africa or the Americas? Pick pick pick-] -Europe, right? Like, next to, uh, Germany? Or... France?

[It sounded like one of those European names. Please say he was talking sense to this kid]

Mmm, it's a promise! [It's a promise Kyousuke doesn't mind striving forwards to, since he wants to meet his Queen someday and he wants her to be proud of him.

...and maybe in the future he'll be so strong that Fujiko can't pull a fast one on a girl he's talking to. Maybe. He holds out his hands faithfully and with a determined smile, wanting to get it right.] Like this, right?

Um, uh... [That's completely wrong! But should I correct him? To his credit Kyousuke does a good job of rubbing his clearly hurt head (It's not) while hesitating, so Kaz won't get the impression that he's trying to be a smartass.]

It's in Asia. And it's supposed to be Jermany and Franse... [He trails off there, already anticipating a not good reaction like the ones he nearly always gets when he corrects Fujiko.]

Ah.

[Well, at least Europe is attached to Asia so he was, uh, closeish. At the very least, the kid didn't look all that suspicious about Kazuya getting something presumably well known wildly wrong, so he could totally recover from this! Though... didn't he seem a little nervous? What, did he expect Kaz to snap at him or what?]

Oh! That's right! Haha, sorry, I'm really bad with Geography. No wonder I ended up here instead of Tokyo, eh? [He smiled, hoping to smooth over the hiccup as well as he could. Yup, just a simple, ignorant mistake, totally not an alien here] In fact, maybe it's best if I looked at a map or something. Have you got one here?
